Zip Line
Hard course
Vault's zigzag as the whole course. Sixteen turns, not one cell of slack.
What it is
Zip Line takes Vault of Wires' zigzag and makes it the whole course: sixteen turns and not one cell of slack. Twenty-five jumps out of 30 solver steps, the highest jump-to-step ratio on the ladder — there is almost no walking in it at all.
The route
Straight up, turning constantly, 21 cells of climb in a 22-cell-tall course with no drops anywhere. Four checkpoints across 25 jumps is thin cover, and it is deliberate: the course is short enough that a restart is cheap.
How to approach it
Count the turns rather than reading them. Sixteen is few enough to memorise, and memorising is faster than looking at this density.
What it teaches: Sustained turning with no recovery sections.
By the numbers
| Blocks | 348 |
|---|---|
| Footprint | 86 × 48 cells |
| Height | 22 cells |
| Checkpoints | 4 |
| Jumps on the solved route | 25 |
| Widest gap | 3.5 cells |
| Total climb | 21 cells |
| Start to finish | +21 cells |
Measured from the geometry the game builds for zipline, not estimated. Route figures describe the course, not a human run.
Medal times
Derived from this course's own geometry, not typed in — how the times are worked out.
| Medal | Time |

Controls
What you need to start
| Move | WASDArrow keys work too. |
|---|---|
| Jump | Space |
| Sprint / lock on | ShiftA latch, not a hold: tap once to arm sprint and a camera lock-on together, tap again to release both. Neither carries over into the next world you open. |
Sprint is a latch rather than a hold — tap it once and it stays on. Every control, keyboard and touch, including respawn, restart and the camera keys, and all of them rebindable.
Other Hard courses
- Vault of Wires — One-cell walkways and a zigzag that turns on every pad.
- The Gauntlet — A plunge of six 2x2 pads, banked by one checkpoint at the top of it.
- Needlepoint — Every other landing is a 2x1 pad seen end-on. Straight, and unforgiving.
- Spindle — A tower climbed on a widening spiral, with nothing to bank on the way up.
