Meadow Rise
Tutorial course
A long climb to a summit, with two staircases to rest on.
What it is
Meadow Rise is the longest climb in the tutorial tier: 31 cells gained across 32 jumps, with two staircases built in as places to stop. It is also the widest course at this end of the ladder at 128 cells across, so the climb never feels like a shaft.
The route
A long rise to a summit, broken by two staircases. The staircases are the design: they are there so the course can be 32 jumps long without being 32 jumps of concentration, and they are where the five checkpoints cluster. The route never descends — the biggest drop on it is zero — so a fall is always backwards rather than through.
How to approach it
Treat the staircases as free distance rather than a rest. They cost nothing in risk, so time lost walking them is time you cannot get back.
What it teaches: Sustained climbing, and pacing a course longer than a sprint.
By the numbers
| Blocks | 795 |
|---|---|
| Footprint | 128 × 52 cells |
| Height | 32 cells |
| Checkpoints | 5 |
| Jumps on the solved route | 32 |
| Widest gap | 3.1 cells |
| Total climb | 31 cells |
| Start to finish | +31 cells |
Measured from the geometry the game builds for meadow, not estimated. Route figures describe the course, not a human run.
How it compares to the rest of the ladder
Ranked against all 23 courses on the same measurements, this one holds 3 places:
- the most climbing of any course on the ladder — 31 cells gained
- the second-longest route on the ladder — 83 solver steps
- the third-largest footprint on the ladder — 6656 cells of ground
Outright places only — ties are not claimed.
Medal times

| Medal | Time |

Controls
What you need to start
| Move | WASDArrow keys work too. |
|---|---|
| Jump | Space |
| Sprint / lock on | ShiftA latch, not a hold: tap once to arm sprint and a camera lock-on together, tap again to release both. Neither carries over into the next world you open. |
Sprint is a latch rather than a hold — tap it once and it stays on. Every control, keyboard and touch, including respawn, restart and the camera keys, and all of them rebindable.
Other Tutorial courses
- Neon Run — A forgiving obstacle course. Stones, a walkway, floating islands.
- Harbour Steps — A causeway out, a climb, and a long shelf home. Nothing to fall off.
- Lantern Row — A lit street with one turn in it. The route is visible from the start.
